If you drive a motor vehicle, there are traffic laws that you must obey. Kentucky uses a “point system” where each traffic offense carries a certain point value. If you are over 18 and accumulate 12 or more points within a 2-year period, you are subject to losing your driving privileges and having your license suspended. It is a good idea to contact a lawyer to determine your options for handing the traffic offense. It is a BAD idea to simply plead guilty to a traffic offense. Pleading guilty to traffic offenses can cause a person’s insurance rates to rise. If you are stopped for a traffic ticket, contact an attorney to determine if you can prevent being assessed “points” on your driving record.
